Welcome to the Florida West Coast Chapter website. The Florida West Coast Chapter is the second largest ICRI Chapter in the Nation. We have about 100 members, ranging from Design Professionals, Contractors, Material Manufactures to Material Distributors.
The Florida West Coast Chapter has received the Chapter of the Year Award and Outstanding Chapter Award twice each within the last 5 years.
Our Chapter holds regular meetings on the first Wednesday of every even month (six a year). These meetings are dinner meetings and are usually held at Antonio’s Pasta Grille in Saint Petersburg, Florida.
Generally, we have four meetings (February, April, June and August) that feature guest speakers, who make presentations regarding specific topics relating to the field of concrete restoration.
In October, we focus our normal meeting to a more hands on situation by holding an annual Demo Day event. The topics for Demo Day change every year. Past year’s topics have ranged from Safety, Surface Prep, Bonding Tests, etc. Please check back later during the year for further information on the 2009 edition of Demo Day.
The last Chapter Meeting is in December and it is usually reserved as a Networking and Socializing event (ie. The Holiday Party).
Our Chapter also hosts a number of other events including an organized trip to catch a Tampa Bay Rays game, the Trade Show at the end of each summer, a Spring Golf Event (usually at a well known local private course), and a Fall Golf event.
The Spring Golf Event, is our Chapter’s main fund raising event of the year. The funds raised go partly to the several Scholarships our Chapter awards each year, the Charitable Donations our Chapter makes every year, and to subsidize some of events our Chapter hosts during the year.
Each year one of our Chapter goals is to give out $1,000.00 Scholarships to college students that are majoring in a restoration related field (Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, etc.). This program grew last year from two scholarships being rewarded to three. Our Chapter’s success is based solely on the work put into it by its members. I would like to thank all the membership for their help and support since the Chapter’s inception.
